light skinned vs. dark skinned women.

*letters for names will be used because it can be kind of confusing*
after having a conversation with my cousin, T (who is light skinned), i realized it's a bigger issue STILL than i thought it was.

theSITUATION: T's boyfriend, C's, ex-girl, N, is dark skinned. T said her boyfriend's best friend, S (who dates C's ex's best friend, A. yeesh!) told T that N said she doesn't like light skinned girls, except for A. My thing is, how can you be bias against light skinned girls, except your best friend? Even if she is an exception, there's still a little bit of that "dislike" whether you say so or not.

My cousin T, tells me that she doesn't like dark skinned females except for her grandmother. That made me look at her sideways. Her reasoning was because every female that she ever had a problem with was dark skinned, "but if you're caramel, somewhere in the middle, you're cool with me."

i proposed a question to her, just to see where her head was. "so if i was dark skinned, you wouldn't like me?" her answer: "idk it depends, but probably not."

it kind of kills me that dark skinned and light skinned women, after all these years cannot get along. i have relatives that are on both ends of the spectrum. my mom is chocolate and my dad is light bright. could that be the reason that im not so color struck? i treat all my family the same, although im closer to some than others.

although i do have problems with music videos using majority "exotic looking models" moreso than those of the darker shade and putting the "light/white is right" saying in our faces.
